Travel: 2 Days 1 Night in Singapore

Travel Date: 22 July 2017 to 23 July 217

 Travel Itinerary:

Day 1: Fly from Kuching to Johor (Airasia)

For first timer visiting Johor, take this opportunity to visit EcoWorld Gallery @ Eco Botanic and Forest City (countless WOWs) before starting your journey to Singapore. You will not regret this. It only takes a while to visit these places.

To run away from heavy traffic congestion. We used the second link instead.

Follow your GPS, get to your hotel first! I would recommend you to download offline map before you lose your phone signal when you arrive Singapore. If not, you will get lost.

We stayed for a night in Singapore. The hotel that we stayed is near Bugis/ Bencoolen Street. Which is only 200 metres away from Bencoolen MRT station. However, during the time of our stay, the MRT station was under maintenance. That's okay, the other nearest MRT is located blocks away from this station. So we used Bugis MRT station.

The hotel we stayed is called V Hotel Bencoolen. You can Google it to see how it looks like. This hotel has a swimming (which made the price reasonable) with up to 1.2 metres deep which is suitable for children. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is clean. The downside of this hotel is that they do not have free parking which initially I thought it has. The parking rate is SGD12 for whole day. This is very expensive for a budgeted Malaysian vacation.

Overall, I rate this hotel 3.5 stars. We booked the hotel via Traveloka app.

Then, we drove to Chinatown. We parked our car and used the MRT for the rest of our trip. I do not want to post many pictures here as I want you to see these places yourself.

Get souvenirs for your friends and family here!

Note: For me, the honey chicken rice was just okay. It was not savoury enough for me. 2 of out 5.

We spent around 1.5 hours at Chinatown. Next, we headed to Bugis MRT station.

We went to this famous shop to have desserts. In my honest opinion. I thought the desserts they recommended are also so-so. 3 out of 5. Then we went to the national library Singapore. For fun.

Then we took the MRT to Orchard. We just took a lazy walk around there and had ice cream by the roadside. For our last destination of the day, we took MRT to Marina Bay Sands.

Most of the top attractions in Singapore are located here. So we took the time to look at the beautiful structures here. It was amazing. Again, not many pictures posted here. See for yourself.

Day 2: Go to Universal Studio Singapore. And going back home (to Kuching)

If you are visiting Singapore, please go to Universal Studio Singapore located at Sentosa Island. It's worth the visit. If you are not here, do not go home telling your friends that you visited Singapore.

That's all for a short getaway to Singapore. Next trip: Kuala Lumpur. Stay tuned. Chop Chop.
